There were many new inventions that sprung up in the late nineteenth century. One of the first was the battery which was first made during the 1870s. Another was the telephone created by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876. Next was the Bunsen Burner made by Robert Bunsen in 1855. The cash register came in 1879 made by James Ritty. The first dish washer was introduced in 1850 by Joel Houghton.

One very major invention was the light bulb. This was very important because, it let people see in the dark. Light bulbs are used all the time in the modern age, and they are very useful. The light bulb is very important, and it really did change American life.

One of, or THE MOST important invetions of the late 19 century were the blue jeans, jeans have now become the overall pants for not just teenagers, but for adults too.

Levi Strauss (1829-1902) was an entrepreneur who invented and marketed blue jeans. Trained as a tailor in Buttenheim, Bavaria, Germany, Strauss went to San Francisco, USA from New York in 1853. Strauss sold dry goods, including tents and linens to the 49ers (the people who came to the California gold rush, which began in 1849). In 1873, Strauss and Jacob Davis, a Nevada tailor, patented the idea (devised by Davis) of using copper rivets at the stress points of sturdy work pants. Early levis, called "waist overalls," came in a brown canvas duck fabric and a heavy blue denim fabric. The duck fabric pants were not very successful, so were dropped early on. His business became extremely successful (and still is), revolutionizing the apparel industry.

ANother very important invention was the Coca-Cola. Coke has become one of my most consumed drinks ever.

John Pemberton (1830-1888) invented Coca-Cola on May 8th, 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He had invented many syrups, medicines, and elixirs before, including a very popular drink called French Wine of Coca, which contained French Bordeux wine, cocaine, and caffeine (from the kola nut). When Atlanta banned alcohol consumption in 1885, Pemberton had to change the formula of his French Wine of Coca, omitting the French wine. He added sugar, citric acid and essential oils of many fruits to the drink, and the original Coca-Cola was created (named for its main ingredients, cocaine and the kola nut). It quickly became a very popular soda fountain drink. Pemberton became partners with Frank Robinson and David Roe, but the partnership soon quarreled. Pemberton sold his interest in Coca-Cola. Cocaine is no longer an ingredient of Coca-Cola, but caffeine, sugar, citric acid, and fruit oils remain (although the formula is a closely-guarded secret).

Of of the greatest inventions ever were the Escalators, other wise knows as the stairs. Without this, People could not go up buildings, and children would not be able to go down stiars.

An escalator is a moving stairway that helps people move easily from floor to floor in building. The escalator was invented by the American inventor Jesse W. Reno in 1891. On his "inclined elevator," passengers rode on an wedge-shaped supports attached to a conveyor belt at an incline of about 25 degrees. The original elevator had a stationary handrail (which was soon replaced with a moving handrail).

One great invention in the 19th century was the telephone. Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876. He called it an "apparatus for transmitting vocal and other sounds telegraphically."
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invention_of_the_telephone

There were many milestones in the 19th century that led up to the invention of the telelphone. Such as: Micheal Foraday proving that vibrations of metal could be convertedto electrical impluses in 1831 and in 1861 Johann Philip Reis built a apparatus that changed sound to electricity and back again to sound. Finally on March 10, 1876 Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Watson transmitted the first complete sentence, "Watson come here; I want you."

The invention of the telephone, in my opinion was and still is one of the best inventions of our time. The telephone made communicating so much easier. Now-a-days we take the telephone for granted. We don't realize the importance of having one in the house. Where would we be without one? When we are in danger how do we reach teh police? The telephone! When we run out of gas on the side of the road or have a flat tire what do we use to call a friend? The telephone. So you see the telephone is one of the most important inventions in the world. This paved the way to other communication inventions like: the radio, the television and even email. The telephone is one the greatest and mst important inventions.
